K. Balachandar’s new serial “Thenmozhiyal”, on Kalaignar TV (Monday to Friday 9 p.m.), is making waves. It is a family-oriented serial with three different tracks about mismatched marriages. Subbulekha Sudhakar and Swarna, well-known television artiste from Kerala, who did a small role in “Chandramukhi, play the lead. The mature performance of the lead actors and the way the story unfolds have made an impact on family audiences. Says Pushpa Kan dasamy, producer of the serial: “KB sir is trying to do something different within the basic format of a serial. He is trying to address middle class issues in a semi-urban milieu. ‘Thenmozhiyal’ is a combination of modernity and old-world charm.”
