VOICE YOUR VIEWS -- PETS ARE MAN'S BEST FRIENDS

Owners have responsibilities

WALKING SAFETY Pets can be delightful friends

Pets give their owners non-trivial health benefits. Keeping pets has been shown to help relieve stress.

And walking a dog can provide both the owner and the dog exercise, fresh air and social interaction. But irresponsible dog’s owners are a major source of complaint, and pets can cause nuisance, intimidation and distress to others.

I often find owners walking their pet dogs, fouling on footpaths and anywhere the pet wants to ‘deposit’.

Owners should know that dog fouling can lead to harmful infections, is unpleasant and degrades the environment.
