Intervention
The water tax hike announced by the Corporation is exorbitant and comes as a bolt from the blue for the middle class.
When there are a lot of avenues to shore up the coffers of the Corporation, why was such a decision taken that will hit the commonman who is already reeling under price rice of all essential commodities. Besides, the question is why the Corporation decided to go for a hike in water tax in a city where the Cauvery and Kollidam are perennial sources of drinking water and ground water potential too is quite satisfactory. People of the city expect the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to intervene in the matter and protect the interests of the people by reversing the hike.
