University of Cambridge International Examinations recently organised a teachers’ training workshop

Teachers play a big role in moulding a child’s life. Hence, it is important that they be well trained and are up to date. Keeping this is mind, University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) recently organised a teachers’ traini ng workshops under the aegis of its program “CIE Face to Face Courses for Teachers”. The workshop was conducted at Vidya Sanskar International School, Faridabad, by international teacher trainers and chief examiners from Cambridge.

Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Marian Cox, Chief Examiner at CIE, said “Developmental programme are essential for teachers, as newer methodologies need to be adopted with changing times. These courses also provide teachers an opportunity to meet colleagues, share their best practice and discuss common issues.”

CIE teacher training workshops include a review of teaching strategies as applied to the delivery of the Cambridge syllabus and are designed to contribute to the improvement of student examination performance. The workshops address issues relating to assessment issues, teaching methods and strategies, including creating schemes of work and lesson plans.

William Bickerdike, South Asia Manager, Cambridge International Examinations, said, “Teachers from India have welcomed these workshops as they help in skill set upgradation as well as offering the opportunity of interacting with expert trainers and examiners.”
