Catching them young
In response to the article ‘Time to hang up? (MetroPlus, October 25), the project co-ordinator of Little Drops, R. Rabindranath writes: “We welcome the Government’s ban on cell phones in schools. Leaving the option of implementation
of the ban, penalisation and time frame for implementation to the schools is a democratic approach.”
“At Little Drops, which is a project to mould children for a better tomorrow, we believe in facilitating students to accept what is good for them rather than just making them comply with something adults have imposed on them. Little Drops and Knowledge Xchange view this as an opportunity to empower the students in implementing the ban which is meant for their own well-being.”
To enable schools and students to initiate this programme, Little Drops, in association with Knowledge Xchange, offers the following assistance: “We have decided to run a programme for schools that wish to facilitate students to understand the merits of the ban, accept it on their own free will, and help implement and sustain it across the school and academic year. Heads of institutions, faculty and even students can contact 98410 80775 between 8 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. and between 5.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. for more details.”
