Mesmerising A view of Mont Blanc
The French Tourist Office in India is celebrating “French Connection 2007” in full swing these days. As part of it, it is working towards publicising Rhone Alps as an ideal vacation spot for the Indian globetrotters.
Pascal Visintainer, Marketing Director of The French Tourist Office says, “This is an important platform to ensure that Indian tour operators are well-informed about the various French tourism experiences and products.” The idea behind celebrating “French Connection 2007”, according to him, “is to widen the understanding of France as a place that has much more to offer than simply wine and fashion.”
Geographically, Rhone Alps is nestled on the crossroads between Southern and Northern Europe. It is chiefly popular for having the largest ski area in the world. Other activities which a tourist can enjoy at Rhone Alps are horseback riding and canoeing. The region offers a patchwork of diverse landscapes which comprises of glaciers and mountain peaks like Mont Blanc. An addition on the itinerary of every prospective tourist should be a visit to the numerous reserves and national parks. The other endowments of nature are the region’s lakes around which are built thermal resorts providing health treatments.
As a wine producing region, Rhone Alps promises an exotic wine list too
