Riding piggyback

Vijay TV is past master at riding piggyback on its popular programmes to boost the TRPs of its serials. The latest news is how the characters of the popular serial “Kana Kaanum Kaalangal” (KKK) shared the dance floor with performers of th e popular game show “Jodi Number 1”. As one wondered if the jodis were replaced with the KKK stars, it came as a relief to know that the shoot was on for the celebration of the completion of 200 episodes of the latter.

KKK characters such as Bala danced with Sruthi of “Jodi Number 1” to a folk song “Maambazham” from the film “Pokkiri”, while Joe, whose passion is dancing (in the serial KKK) paired with Jennifer of “Gilli” fame to give an impressive performance for the song “Nerupae Sikki Mukki Nerupae” from “Vettayadu Vilayadu”. Pandi was all smiles as he danced with his friend Deepa. They danced to a koothu hit, “Yemmadi Aathadi” from “Vallavan”. The three super judges on the show were Gabriel, the chemistry professor, Jeeva and the Physical Trainer, all from KKK !

The usually stern and strict Professor Gabriel was for once relaxed and appreciated his students for their excellent performance. All this is being telecast from October 29 in “Kana Kaanum Kaalangal” (Monday to Thursday, 8 p.m.) on Vijay TV.
