Get power!

Impressed by Shah Rukh Khan’s six pack muscles? Well, it seems the actor’s dream physique is thanks to Power Plate technology. The technology, which has recently come to India, has its roots in Germany, was initially used for training cos monauts.

In Delhi, Vesna’s Asian Roots spa houses Power Plate equipments. These are compact devices that use the principles of acceleration training to stimulate the body’s natural response to vibration. Vesna explains, “These vibrations transmit waves of energy throughout the body, activating muscle contractions between 25 and 50 times per second.” It could in particular be the right choice for people with a hectic lifestyle as a workout of 25 minutes, thrice a week is what Vesna claims is enough to get the desired results over a span of around three months.

Currently, a Power Plate machine is available in the market within the price range of Rs. 2 to 7 lakhs. Thus, a monthly membership could cost around Rs. 7000.

In order to familiarise people with the concept, Vesna says, “We consider the first visit a trial class and it is offered for free.” Having used Power Plates for years now, Vesna says, “Each trainee is different. We insist on a thorough analysis of their medical history and thereafter design the right regime for them.” As of now the spa has members within the age bracket of 16 to 60 years. In Delhi, one can have access to Power Plates at her outlets in Lodi Garden, Safdarjung Enclaveand Greater Kailash (M block).
