Movie tickets via SMS

Technology movieonline.in provides online reservations for movies and the ticket is sent via SMS

User-friendly Movie goers can now reserve and get their tickets online

The mad rush to the theatre to book tickets for the latest flick in town may soon be a thing of the past. An exciting new venture, movieonline.in, provides an online platform for cinema ticket reservation, but with one interesting innovation – the movie ticket is sent via SMS.

The service, offered by MobME, a media and entertainment company in association with 10Bees, a travel and entertainment service company, has been started in the city and in Kochi.

Four theatres

“At present, this service is available at four theatres in Trivandrum and three in Ernakulam, but we have received a very positive response from the public, so we are confident of reaching out to other theatres and new areas,” says Sony Joy, chief operating officer of MobME. The theatres in the city are Dhanya,Remya, Parthas and Sree Padmanabha.

All a person needs to do to reserve a ticket is to login to http://movieonline.in, and navigate through the user-friendly interface. It also has a versatile payment system. Credit cards, debit cards, ItzCash and Paypal accounts can be used for payment. The service automatically sends the ticket via sms, and all the user needs to do is to present this at the theatre 20 minutes before the show. “For those without mobile phones, there is the alternate option of taking a print-out of the transaction page,” adds Sanjay V, CEO of MobME. The list of features doesn’t end there. An added advantage while reserving in theatres in the city is that the buyer can select the seats that he wants, if it has not been booked earlier. The service, which works based on Web 2.0 technology, has already become a hit among techies and tech-savvy youngsters of the city.

“This service has been very convenient for most cinema-freaks amongst the young generation,” opines Kishore E, who works at UST Global.
