Cinema halls in Madurai were once a rage. Now people have even forgotten their names and location. Many theatres have closed down or their owners have diverted them to different businesses. Of late, some halls are undergoing renovation and modification to keep pace with the changing time and demands of the new generation. If so much money is invested, it is imperative that they are also maintained well.
