Neelambari
All the romantic numbers in the CD relive the magical charm of earlier Tharangini hits. Music has been composed by Chullimanoor Shajahan and Ayiroor Sadsasivan. The latter, a playback singer, who gave memorable hits such as ‘Amme aviduthe munnil njan aaru’ (‘Chayam’) and ‘Munjathi penne nin chundil’ (‘Maram’), turns music composer with this album.
The opening track has ‘Azhakai vidarum neelambari nee’ in a fast tempo by K.J Yesudas.
Lilting duet
In a lilting duet ‘Hridaya vaniyil poometha orukkum poo kalam’ with Yesudas, Swetha proves her calibre as a promising singer. ‘Priyamanasa nee varunathum kathu’ has Sujatha’s emotive voice at her best.
In ‘Mohangal kondoru,’ Yesudas conjures a castle of swaras for the loved one.
Vijay Yesudas gives expression to his wishes in ‘Mazhamukiliin nattil njan oru veedu kettam.’ The songs are full of remarkable imagery.
‘Vila koyyum padathu,’ which conjures a festive mood through a song with a folk touch, unfolds a veritable rural landscape and the listener is transported to Kerala’s glorious past. ‘Neelambari’ is one of the best buys for all those yearning for romance.
