It’s music at the click of a mouse. Saregama India Ltd., the flagship music company in India will soon be one of the largest aggregators of Indian music with 4.6 million tracks that will be made available on their soon to be launched portal – www.saregama.com. This is apart from close to three lakh music tracks that Saregama itself owns.
Saregama recently tied up with Archies Music, a division of the famous card sellers In addition to other music labels such as Yashraj, Sony BMG, EMI Virgin, Tips and HOM Records, which includes all leading regional labels, Saregama has also tied up with Orchard Enterprises, Inc, a leading global digital distributor and marketer of music and Digital Music Group, Inc. With these tie-ups www.saregama.com is slated to be the largest digital music aggregator in India.
Commenting on the aggregation, Mr. Gavin Dabreo, Chief Marketing Officer says, “ www.saregama.com will provide users a holistic digital entertainment experience. With the growth of the digital medium, the portal will become a one stop shop for entertainment products.”
Indian currency
The portal allows the users to download all music in exchange of Indian currency. With this Saregama India will be the only music company to provide downloading of music in Indian currency.
Recently Saregama also introduced a test pilot wherein users could download music through kiosks in Bangalore. There are plans to extend that to more than 1,500 kiosks across India.
