Targeting the youth

In Tamil television, there is a rush to create the right mix for successful serials. At a time when women-oriented serials ruled, Vijay TV’s teenage school story “Kana Kaanum Kaalangal” broke the myth and suddenly television discovered an audience for youth serials. In the same genre is “Kadhalikka Neram Illai”, premiering today on Vijay TV, Monday to Thursday, at 9 p.m. It is a simple love story involving two young professionals caught in the turmoil of life in Singapore. The lovers take matters into their hands without letting society influence their decision-making. It will be a break from the usual ‘Mamiyar-Marumagal’ weepy soap operas. Parijn and Chandra Lakshmanan play the lead and the serial is directed by Prabhu Kanna and Azgar. The music is by Vijay Antony.
