Laughathon claims to be one of its kind, and it promises two days filled with laughter. Organised by the Humour Society of Coimbatore to commemorate National Humour Day (December 9), a slew of experts from the field of humour will be on hand to tickle your funny bone.

The programmes start an evening earlier to help you get into the groove. On December 8, laugh your way through Carry On Heaven, a full-length comedy play by a Mumbai troupe. On December 9, the proceedings will start with a humour quiz. And, then, the treats begin.

Here’s what you get - skits by Chennai-based EVAM and Stagefright, a talk by ad guru and theatreperson Bharat Dhabolkar, keynote address by Dr. K. P Misra on ‘Life is a Joke’, and a talk by Dr. G. Lakshmipathi on hospital humour. Plans are also on to rope in comedians to talk on ‘humour in cinema’.

The event will be held at PSG IMS and R auditorium, and includes a grand dinner on December 8 and lunch and refreshments on December 9. A souvenir packed with humorous articles, cartoons and jokes will also be released on the occasion.
