Useful

The article, ‘Life starts at 60’, (November 19) was interesting. Doing new things in the twilight years helps one lead a useful life.

‘Films and the feel good factor’ (same issue) reminded me of the popular film ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’ which we had such fun watching . ‘Circles of caution’ and ‘Something about Sania’ (November 17) are the other two articles that made for useful reading.

Eye-opener

‘Circles of caution’ should serve as an eye-opener for every vehicle driver. They should understand that reckless driving could lead to heart-rending tragedies in so many families.

With safe driving, they should transform the ‘yellow circles’ on the road to smiling ‘green circles’, indicating zero accidents.

Informative

The article ‘Blood, gore and more’ (November 12) emphasised what the public felt about the portrayal of violence in movies.

The censor board should take note of the adverse effects such films create in young minds and initiate steps to take legal action against such films.

Laudable

‘Circles of caution’ narrated the agony of the families of accident victims. It is all the more painful when the victims are the breadwinners of the families.

The Youth Task Force’s mission to prevent accidents is laudable.

The police should be relentless in bringing to book the offenders who cause loss of life by their rash and negligent driving.

‘Life starts at 60’ (November 19) presents cheers to those who reach the age of 60 and retire.

Creates awareness

The write-up ‘Circles of caution’ creates awareness on avoiding reckless driving, which continues to be the main cause of fatal road accidents.

‘Orchids, orchids everywhere’ (same issue) is interesting. It assumes significance because there is now a direct flight from Coimbatore to Singapore.

‘Life starts at 60’ is a morale-booster for senior citizens. ‘Going local’ and ‘Boys don’t cry (same issue) made for interesting reading.
