For her

Amit Mohan on “Gauri The Unborn”

He launched a mosquito repellent and the ‘Goodnight’ identity has come to stay with him. Now, Amit Mohan is changing tracks, and offering us “Gauri – The Unborn”, a film that is a cry for the girl child.

“Goodnight has nothing to do with my night activities…”. Gauri is about an unborn child, aborted by her parents. It Atul Kulkarni and Rituparna Sengupta. When their second child Shivani (played by Rushita Pandya) is born and is bestowed with parental love, the unborn makes her presence felt through a series of scary moments. “I love to support only content-driven films. I also produced the commercial film Gardish with a big star cast. I don’t accept scripts blindly. In Gauri, I made many changes and added a scene to the climax.” Mohan is ready with three new comedies and is “looking for new boys” to direct it. “I always encourage newcomers. I brought Madhur Bhandarkar, Priyadarshan, Santosh Sivan and many others.”
