The Indo-German cultural Association will screen German movies
|
To promote German culture and language, the Indo-German Cultural Association (CIGCA) in Coimbatore is bringing a series of German films. The films will be screened every Saturday beginning from December 1 to 22.
On December 1, The Little Magic Flute (Die kleine Zauberflöte), a children’s movie will be screened with English subtitles. The screening begins at 6. p.m. at Geedee Auditorium, President Hall on Avanashi Road. Entry is free and open to all. In The Little Magic Flute, while on a hunting expedition Prince Tamino chances into the realm of the tyrannical Queen of the Night. The unsuspecting Tamino meets up with the good-natured bird-catcher Papageno. Together they overcome many an ordeal. And, the biggest one is to save Pamina, daughter of the Queen of the Night, from the clutches of Sarastro.
Curt Linda, director of animated movies, took four years to create this animated film. Inspired by the famous opera by Emanuel Schikaneder (text) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (music), it is a fairy tale suitable for children.
