Rock concert

Legendary folk rock band, America, will be performing in the city on December 9. Part of the 100 Pipers Legends series of concerts, the band will also perform at Mumbai on December 11.

America is an English-American folk rock band, originally composed of members Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek. They reached peak popularity in the early to mid 1970s and early 1980s. Among the band’s best known songs are “A Horse with No Name”, “Sister Golden Hair”, “Ventura Highway” and “Tin Man”.

Although derided by critics, the band’s singles and albums were a commercial success. They were popular enough to attract the services of famed Beatles producer George Martin for a run of seven albums. Touring now for well over three decades, on January 16, 2007, the band released “Here and Now”, its first album in twenty years.

The concert will be at Palace grounds and tickets are available at Café Coffee Day outlets at 100ft Road, Banashankri, Brigade Road, Commercial street, Cunningham Road, Forum Mall, Frazer Town, Jayanagar 4th block, Lavelle Road and Malleswaram.
