Back to the villages

Cinematographer-turned-director Thankar Pachan believes in making films, set in a rural milieu, about real people and their problems. After making offbeat films such as “Azhagi”, “Solla Marantha Kathai” and “Pallikoodam”, Thankar has now completed “Onbathu Rubai Nottu”, based on a book written by him. The film features Sathyaraj, Archana, Nasser and Rohini. It is about the plight of an elderly couple abandoned by their children. Says Thankar: “The film spans three different periods from 1972 to 2007.”
