A rock concert is being held today to mark the World AIDS Day. In a move to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS, rock bands will come together at Durgum Cheruvu for the concert between 7 and 10 p.m. Bands such as Delay IVI, Blood Maze, Stiffneck Syndrome, Sledge and Native Tongue will take part in the Killer Keep the Promise Rock Fest II.

The German Centre Goethe-Zentrum is conducting an AIDS awareness programme in collaboration with Sahara Aalhad Center for Residential Care and Rehabilitation. A short film on AIDS will be screened between 4.30 and 5 p.m. and a discussion HIV/AIDS: The Context Today, will be held at 7.15 p.m. at Goethe-Zentrum, Hyderabad. Counsellors will also be available at the centre for individual counselling between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Lepakshi is holding an exhibition of handicrafts and handlooms at S.R. Nagar till December 16, between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. For NRIs who wish to purchase handicrafts as gifts, Lepakshi will deliver the products across the globe.

SDIPA, the Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts and Edge, will conduct the finale of the Winter Funk show at Shilpakala Vedika. Apart from dance enthusiasts of the institute across all age groups, there are special children from Sanskruti Shikhar, Thakur Hari Prasad Institute for the Physically Challenged and other who will perform.

The second twin cities piano competition will be held on December 15, 21st and 22nd. Contestants can enter in two categories – for students performing pieces at a level not higher than grade 3 Trinity or Royal School of Music Exams and the second category for students performing pieces at a level of Grade 4 or above. An exhibition of paintings titled Life Corner 07C by Shrikant Kolhe will be unveiled at the Alankritha Art Gallery today. The exhibition will be on view from December 3 to 12, from 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Contact 23113709 for details.
