Zee Cinema has lived up to its tagline “Movies, Masti and Magic” by winning the “Best Hindi Movie Channel” award (instituted by the Indian Television Academy) for the fifth time in a row. Mohan Gopinath, business head, Zee Cinema said, “It is not a channel that rests on its laurels. The awards we have been winning since last year have given us greater impetus to work hard and maintain our leading position, and add value for the viewers. “Last Saturday (December 2), the channel telecast the Sooraj Barjatya-directed hit “Vivah”, for the first time on Indian television. The packaging was done in typical Hollywood style with the stars of the film Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao talking about the “Vivah” experience. There was also an interview with the director on the making of the film. Today Hindi television channel premieres have become innovative and stylish, attracting a new breed of viewers. Are the Kollywood channels listening?
