Concert

Tuning up Paul Stewart

The Forum for Teachers of Western Classical Music is organising a concert by Canadian pianist Paul Stewart to mark the inauguration of the newly installed Kawai grand piano at the St. Marks Cathedral Resource Centre.

Paul Stewart is one of Canada’s best-known musicians, debuting with the Toronto Symphony in 1981 and having performed with a variety of orchestras, on radio and television. In addition to his busy performing and recording career, Paul Stewart is a Professor of Piano at the University of Montreal.

The Forum for Teachers was formed and registered in 1997 as a common platform to discuss problems related to teaching,. The grand piano was purchased in order to fill the need for a good instrument for programmes and for student recitals organised by the forum.

The concert is being held at 7 p.m. on December 6 at the St. Marks Auditorium and will include works by Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt. Tickets for the concert are available at ELS Bookshop, Good Shepherd Convent and St. Marks Music Academy. For details, contact 25598255, 23438839 or 22215304.
