The last property tax revision was done 10 years ago, in 1998. It is a timely decision by the Government and the increase can be justified with the galloping land rates, property value, money flow and life style of the people in general. Tax is the prime revenue of the Government and for it to meet its expenses against income such revisions become mandatory. It is surprising that the revision is happening after 10 years during which period the country and the State have developed immensely in every aspect.
