Following measures should be taken before tax revision: Assessment of capital and revenue expenditure and funds provided by different sources, the property tax potential of the corporation by creating a fresh data base, of financial implications of substandard work, which warrant redoing or repairing. A quality circle may be constituted to identify such substandard works and weed out erring agencies. Status of buildings with an approved plan for additional construction should be checked regularly for bringing them into the tax net. Though public should not expect quid pro quo from the Government, it is not fair on part of the Corporation to increase property tax just like that, as huge amount of public money is involved.
