Voice Your Views: Property tax revision

The general revision of property tax in all municipal corporations and town panchayats from April 1 is justified since the last revision was done in 1998. A decade’s gap is a long time and hopefully people will understand and accept the revised rates. But the revision should be reasonable and commensurate with the living standards. The Government’s averment that funds are needed for meeting expenses for several development schemes is untenable as the first person to be affected by any increase is the common man.
