Meet Sikander Kher, son of versatile actor duo, Anupam and Kirron Kher

Rising son Sikander Kher thrives under pressure

Flashing his dimpled smile complimented by his tough looks, this is Sikander Kher. Son of seasoned actors, Anupam and Kirron Kher, Sikander is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Gupta’s “Woodstock Villa”, due for rel ease next year.

Another movie set for completion is “Summer of 2007”.

Sikander worked as an assistant director in movies like “Devdas” and “Dil To Pagal Hai” but soon, his desire to be in front of the camera got the better of him.

The 26-year-old has done six months of training in acting from the National School of Drama and had attended a 15-day workshop at his father’s acting school.

So which of his father’s movies did he really like? “My dad has done more than 400 movies and it would be injustice to quote one of them.

But I loved ‘Saraansh’ where he played a 56-year-old at the age of 26, and he was too good as Dr. Dang in ‘Karma’,” comes the reply.

But Sikander is certainly not all about films only. Sports take his time when he is not working. He has represented Maharashtra in basketball and handball.

The baggage of being a star son usually comes heavy. But not for Sikander.

“It has not been difficult at all. Pressure gives me a kick-start and I am pretty excited to take the plunge.”
