The Little Ghost is an animated children’s movie
|
The film to be screened by Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore today is Das kleine Gespenst (The Little Ghost). When the clock tower strikes 12 times at midnight, the little white ghost awakens in his tower, and moves around his terrain whic
h is normally devoid of people. He tells the wise owl of his desire to see the world just once by day.
He gets his wish, but sooner than he thought – and differently than he expected. The ghost is horrified to discover that everything black is white and everything white is black, and that people are afraid of him. Until everything is back to normal again, the ghost embarks on an exciting adventure, and with him the whole city.
The writer Otfried Preussler gave Curt Linda his permission to modernise the 25-year-old children’s book, enhancing it with new scenes and providing it with a look befitting of today. One of the reviews for the film goes thus: The road from book to movie for the little ghost was a success. —(Spielen und Lernen, October 1992)
This children’s animated film has a run time of 78 minutes. Music is by Kambiz Giahi. So, happy viewing!
