Guru Sagaratheere
It’s a morality tale dressed up as entertainment. A 10-minute short film, ‘Guru Sagaratheere’ directed by Sohanlal and his screenplay has been made from a story narrated by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. Two disciples are to decide who
will become the next head of the place. The Guru sends them out on a mission to find out what’s good and bad outside the ashram. On their return, one of them says that he saw a nurse being very rude to a patient because he did not take his medicines regularly. He said he was angry with that nurse. The other disciple says he too saw a nurse, who was very concerned about her patient and chided him for not taking his medicines regularly, for she feared his illness would get worse, otherwise. “It’s about how you perceive things; if there is goodness in you, then you can see the goodness in others. The same person, the nurse, is seen in two different lights,” says Sohanlal, who also directed the Telefilm, ‘Neermathalathinte pookkal’ and has won a couple of awards. There are few more such instances picturised to drive home the point. Rahul Eashwar, anchor and Kaladharan play the lead roles.Rishi, Veena, Rajiv Rangan and Baby Anamika also feature in this short film. Biju Pazhavila’s camera deserves special mention. It is shown on Amrita TV.
