Fast becoming the darling of brands, actress Priyanka Chopra was in Delhi the other day promoting Tag Heuer watches with Shah Rukh Khan. Has time really become money for her? “Being in the creative field I believe time is not money. Time become
s as important in life as one allows it to be.”
Talking of recent times, Priyanka has signed a three film deal with UTV. Isn’t she trading her choice of script for a successful production house? “No the deal has a clause which says I can back out if I don’t like the script. Also I haven’t blocked dates. Film making is a collaborative effort and it will continue to be.”
Priyanka feels there is still a long way for the industry to reach the studio system of yesteryear or the way Hollywood works. “At the same time, I must say more and more actors are realising the economics of filmmaking, and my signing a deal with UTV is an example.”
Action mode
Priyanka seems to be in action mode these days. Last year we saw her doing karate in Don and now she is again doing her stunts in Drona. “In Drona I am playing a bodyguard of Abhishek Bachchan. But that’s all. After that there is Love Story 2050, which as the name suggests is a futuristic love story and then there is the long delayed God Tussi Great Ho, where I am playing a journalist. In real life I am a tough girl but not somebody who is into martial arts. I do a lot of girly things!”
Priyanka hints that God Tussi Great Ho has been delayed because of Amitabh Bachchan’s illness and the producer.
And what happened to her Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam, which was launched with much fanfare? “I have no clue. We did a photo shoot and that’s all.”
