One fine evening

Clothes from Anonym were showcased differently

The design of things to come

Without any pun on the name of the store, Anonym houses clothes by talented and established designers in new styles, bold colours and leans towards the experimental, a combination of which make the clothes refreshing.

Most of the designers whose clothes line the racks at Anonym are not names you would use to do some name dropping, but are ones who thrive on publicity through word of mouth.

The store is located above Little Italy at Film Nagar and the concept to merge fine fashion with fine dining was executed by Vikas and Vinita Passary.

The eight-sequence show had designers from across the country participating in an event that showcased fabrics, styles and craftsmanship from different parts of the country. One sequence each was dedicated to designers Deepti Toor, Aneet Arora, Swati Bhimte, Anuj Sharma, Rahul and Firdos, Chandra Sekhar and Vinita Passary, all of who retail from the store, as models walked the ramp to eclectic music.

Deepti Toor’s collection made use of Pachikata, miniature Orissa paintings, on the fabric, Chandra Sekhar’s line emphasised on threads and textures and Rahul and Firdos, two budding designers from Ahmedabad showed a funky line of western wear comprising billowy dresses, tunic and skirts, with bandhej work. Pashma - an international line of winter wear and accessories for women - was also shown. Vinita Passary’s line of beautiful embroidered saris and lehengas in rich Indian colours of green, purple, red and yellow closed the show.

Other than Abhishek Dutta’s jackets, the clothing for men didn’t measure up to the women’s lines.

A fashion show at this unusual venue provided much relief. The ramp meandered all through the restaurant, indoors and outdoors, providing ample and comfortable seating for all.
