FOUR FRAMES

Hot and controversial

The controversial Tamil film Mirugam, featuring Padmapriya in a never-seen-before role as a village girl married to an animal-like man with raw instincts, played by newcomer Aadhi, has been cleared by the censors with an ‘A&# 8217; certificate. The film is releasing this Friday. Director Samy’s earlier film “Uyir” had also its share of controversies. In “Mirugam”, Samy says he has a message to convey to the people — those with AIDS should not be shunned and that the public should be more aware as to how the virus spreads. The posters have made the film hot in the market.
