Satire on stardom

Mammootty plays superstar Ashok Raj in his Christmas release “Katha Parayumbol”, written by Sreenivasan and directed by his brother-in-law M. Mohan, for producer-actor Mukesh. When Sreenivasan last wrote a satire on Malayalam tinsel town about the travails of a script-writer, played brilliantly by Mohanlal, the film “Udayananu Tharam” became a blockbuster. In “Katha Parayumbol”, he celebrates the friendship between a superstar and a barber who studied together! The film also stars Mukesh, Jagadish and Meena and is a light-hearted satire on stardom.
