Sufficient revenue

It is unfair to revise the Property tax, when the government does not do justice to the money it collects. Most of the tax money is hoarded for special political meetings, when the political parties paint the town red with posters and serial lights. The Corporation, too, wakes up only during that period and does cleaning and relaying work at a super fast speed. But the city gets back to its woeful state within a month, with the partly patched-up roads developing potholes everywhere. The revenue earned from current tax is sufficient to maintain the city at its best . Corporation must stop saving money for last minute work during the visits of political leaders. Instead, it must make sure that the money is spent judiciously by proper and regular maintenance of all infrastructure and essential services.

Lavanya Dilip,

Tiruchi-18.
