Reduce burden

It is only natural for the government to revise property tax after a given period of time. While this is a move on the expected lines, Corporation must utilise the larger amount in a productive way to satisfy the residents than to add burden on the people who buy houses with the help of high-interest loans. The raw materials for construction of roads or patching the damaged roads have increased several times in a decade, which makes the maintenance work a challenge for the Corporation. But even the re-laying of roads is not being done in a satisfactory manner. The workers patch-up the road so carelessly that the road condition is hardly improved even after the work. Same is the case with water supply.

K. Vikram,

Tiruchi.
