Tabla workshop by Pt. Abhijit Banerjee and a discussion with poet Joy Goswami on December 16

Manabendra Smaraney, a music group of Chennai, along with the Bengal Association is organising a function on December 16, 10.30 a.m. onwards at the Bengal Association Auditorium, 26, Giri Road, off Thirumalai Pillai Street, T. Nagar.
Pt. Abhijit Banerjee will conduct a workshop on tabla. It will be followed by an interaction with the famous Bengali poet Joy Goswami.
With nearly 20 years of professional experience, Abhijit Banerjee has accompanied both Hindustani and Carnatic musicians. He has travelled extensively and has collaborated with Jazz musicians. He has composed music for TV serials and short films and has won the National Award for Documentary Music for the film “The Trail”.
Joy Goswami’s works appeal to the connoisseur as well as the common man. He started writing poems at the age of seven and his first work was published at the age of 19. Though he is primarily a poet, he has 10 novels to his credit of which two have been made into films. He has won several awards including the Sahitya Academy Award.
