Food ‘Cake and chocolate’ festival begins at Avenue Regent

Chocolates and cakes. This is the season for these two rich sweet delicacies. The Avenue Regent has started making them and they call it the cake and chocolate festival, which begins on December 15 and goes on till people have finished celebrating th
e New Year.
“We use fresh creams for our cake,” says Chef Thomas Paul. The cake christened Chocolate Excess, which is chocolate and calories laden, costs Rs. 380 a kilo. (The ingredients are the best, says chef.) Melted chocolate and rich cream is its signature look. The other varieties are Passion fruit Mousse Excess, Litchi Butterscotch, Tangerine Truffle, along with the regular black forest and yes, eggless cakes too for those who fancy it.
Plum cakes, rich and super rich Plum cakes are also among the menu. All orders must be one kilo or above and a day earlier, please, says Chef Thomas. Now for the chocolates: They all have creamy fillings of different tastes and stuff. Nougat chocolate has melted chocolate and caramelised nuts as filling.
The small box of assorted chocolates cost Rs. 380 and for the bigger box, you will have to pay Rs 550. Some of them have fig and honey filling, or rum and raisin ones. There are dates and walnut fillings too. Both dark and white chocolates feature in these boxes. Have a chocolatey season.
