Horror sells

Horror on television is big business. “Ssshhhh Phir Koi Hai” (Star One, Friday, 10 p.m.) has been India’s number one horror series featuring stories of the dark and the unknown, of the revered and the feared, of Gods and devils, tal es that are at once engrossing and bone chilling. The show became such a hit that the channel made it bi-weekly (Friday and Saturday, 10 p.m.) “Ssshhhh Phir Koi Hai” has created a special effects boom in television industry and has also brought to the fore some fresh talent. Says Ravi Menon, general manager, Star One, “This is a sort of a re-launch of a successful brand we have created. We know each region has its own folklore and horror legends. The new series on ‘Ssshhhh’ is an attempt to explore ethnic horror stories and present them to viewers. The series has a movie feel with its breathtaking special effects and impressive star cast.”
