A peek into the latest offerings in lifestyle, glitz and glamour, and loads of fun. That was The Hindu Metroplus Lifestyle show launch party at The Residency.
The silk sari round of The Chennai Silks set the mood for a starry evening. It was a riot of colours and glitter as the models showcased exquisite silk saris in vibrant maroons, blues and greens. The men presented the silk dhotis and shirts.
The lovely chiffon collection with heavy embroidery and sequin work, and in a variety of combination colours, took centre stage in the evening and party wear round. So did the ghagras and sherwanis with elaborate stonework and zardosi.
The hip and happening range of camcorders, digital cameras, i-pods, mobile phones and high-end LCDs grabbed everyone’s attention in the segment presented by Samsung, the presenting sponsor of the event. The LCD TVs come in 19, 26 and 32 inches, and the latest from Samsung is a 70-inch wide screen.
Next, the travel segment. Ideal Stores showcased the latest in the world of travel bags and accessories. First was the Insect collection, collapsible designer bags in blue, grey, green and black.
Then came the Helius collection from Delsey, trendy bags in orange and black, and Samsonite’s collection of double bags, backpacks, boarding bags and hip pouches. Casual colours, greys, blues and pastel shades dominated Classic Polo’s casual T-shirt round. The smash round showcased hip sportswear. And, it was striped shirts and casual tees all the way in greens, blues and greys in the evening wear round, the last sequence of the evening.
The Lifestyle Show will be held from December 21 to 25 at Codissia Trade Fair Complex. The associate sponsors are General Motors, Ashan Perfumes, The Chennai Silks, Ideal Stores, Classic Polo and Girias Electronics.
