PERSONAL TOUCH There are ever so many ways to make Christmas special

It’s time for celebration and festivity. Christmas is all about happiness, twinkling of stars, swaying of bells and spreading the message of love and peace everywhere. And if you are looking for different ways to greet your friends and relative s, a little bit of serious thinking and creativity will help you create a homemade gift, which will act as the perfect Christmas gift for your dear ones.

A homemade cake is the simplest yet the most relishing gift idea. If you’re thinking of gifting someone really special, add on some sinful ingredients that taste really divine. Try playing with some colourful icing or garnishes like chocolate sauce or fresh fruits. If you know the right recipe to bake a plum cake, it’s going to be a blessing of good dessert. Present the cake with amazing wraps and knot it with colourful ribbons. A bottle of wine with a homemade cake can act as the perfect gift for your family.

Assorted homemade chocolates are also an evergreen gift item for all age groups. Chocolates made in different flavours can be cut in various shapes and sizes that look exciting. To enhance the Christmas feel, chocolates can be filled in stockings that can be further knotted with red and white ribbons. Small silver stars, crystal beads, Santa masks can be used as embellishments. Else, each chocolate can be presented with amazing wraps that are further embellished with colourful sparklers and sequences. Or if you are good with thread and needle, then knit a cosy sweater or shawl for your loved ones. Try designing some neat embroidery that will add colour and glamour to the ensemble. Knitting small purses or small bags for mobile phones can also be useful. Trendy buckles or broaches can be used as closures. Official gifting can get a little tricky. A beautiful file or a folder with many pockets can be one of the most required things. Playing with some innovation, wrap the folder with a well-designed fabric or with a glittery wrap. Fancy lace, colourful stones, sparklers, felt pens, wax, can be used as embellishments. Old tins can be converted into pen stands. Paint the tin red and white, or red and green. Use a felt pen or colourful wax to write liners.

Paper weights or coasters can also be made of cardboard. Stack a couple of cardboard sheets together. Wrap them with fabric or a velvet sheet. Small drawings with felt or stamp-painting on the cardboard look creative.
