Calling ecologists
The United Nations Environment Programme, in partnership with Volvo Group, is organising ‘Volvo Adventure.’
It is an online global education programme that rewards environmental activities among students aged between 13 and 16.
The projects will be published on www.
volvoadventure.org, and the best projects will be selected for an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden to compete in the global finals. The last date for posting projects on the site is January 31.
For students who are just starting out, Volvo offers to help with resources to plan and develop their project, based on successful past projects.
In the past, Indian teams have had a successful stint in the competition, winning two global finals in the last five contests with projects that focused on biodiversity, wastage of resources, water quality, sustainable use of energy and transport.
Volvo Adventure Project is part of various environment-related initiatives undertaken by Volvo.
Another event closely following this project is the Environment Seminar on February 4 in New Delhi and February 6 in Bangalore, for which Volvo is a partner. For details, visit the website.
