My eyes are quite small. How can I make them look bigger? - Sonia

Small eyes can be made to look bigger by applying a light eye shadow on the upper lids. Apply a dark one in the crease of the eyelid. Apply a highlighter which is white or light just under the outer side of the brows. The eyeliner or eye pencil should extend outwards and slightly upwards at the outer corner of the eyes. Do not line the lower lids. Apply a line of dark eye shadow just under the lower lashes and then apply mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

Soon after my eyebrows are shaped, I get a rash, which disappears in a day or two. What should I do? - Rashida

After plucking the eyebrows, take an ice cube in a clean napkin and apply it on the area for a few seconds. Then apply an astringent lotion. If the rash persists, ask your doctor to prescribe a soothing ointment.

Suggest a remedy for fly-away hair. I have this problem in winter. - Jyoti

“Fly-away” hair is caused by too much static. You need to condition your hair after shampooing. Take very little creamy conditioner and massage it lightly into the hair. Leave it on for two minutes and rinse it off with water. Or, use a leave-on type conditioner or hair serum. Applying oil before shampooing will also help. Do not comb or brush your hair too much, as this will only increase the static. A quick emergency treatment is to just wet your hands with water and smoothen the hair.

My hair is so oily that I need to wash it everyday. How often should I wash my hair? - Anand

You can wash your hair every day, provided you use a mild shampoo. It will not damage the hair. Use very little shampoo and rinse your hair thoroughly with water. One application of shampoo should be enough for each hair wash. Take half a teaspoon of shampoo, dilute it with a little water and then use it. After washing your hair, add the juice of a lemon to a mug of water and use it as the last rinse.

I have oily skin and it looks dull. What should I do to add glow to it? - Christine

Mix multani mitti with rose water and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply it on the face two or three times a week. Wash it off when it dries. Use a facial scrub twice a week. For glowing skin, make a paste of mint (pudina) leaves and almonds with a little lukewarm water. Apply it on the face and wash it off after 15 minutes.
