Marico Innovation Foundation announces its 2nd Innovation for India awards to be held on March 19 in Mumbai. The foundation was formed by visionaries such as Dr. Ramesh Mashelkar in 2003. Its mission is to fuel innovation in the country. To this end,
it institutionalised its first “Innovation for India Awards” in 2006. The purpose is to reward projects in the field of business and social innovation. The nomination process for this year has started and applications are invited till January 5, 2008. Any Indian company, social organisation, government body and/or individuals that has successfully conceptualised and nurtured a brilliant idea, made it work and brought it to the market will be eligible to participate.
The categories for innovation awards are Business Innovation (Products/Services/Business Model and Innovation in social space by a business organisation) and Social Innovation (innovation by a social organisation). The guiding principles for the selection of awards will be on the basis of transparency, quality, consistency and fairness.
