Marico Innovation Foundation announces its II Innovation for India awards to be held on March 19 in Mumbai. The mission of the foundation, formed by visionaries such as Dr. Ramesh Mashelkar in 2003, is to fuel innovation. These awards were instituted
in 2006, and the purpose is to reward projects in the field of business and social innovation. The last date for sending in applications for this year’s awards is January 5, 2008. Any Indian company, social organisation, government body and/or individuals that has successfully conceptualised and nurtured a brilliant idea, made it work and brought it to the market will be eligible to participate.
The categories for innovation awards are Business Innovation (Products/Services/Business Model and Innovation in social space by a business organisation) and Social Innovation. The awards will be selected based on transparency, quality, consistency and fairness. This will be followed by a four-stage selection process by a 11-member eminent jury.
