Bake a cake
Oxford Bookstore and Cha Bar has teamed up with JM Breads to conduct a cake baking demonstration.
You can learn the art of baking and also get to taste the cake, shaped in the form of a universally favourite cartoon character.

Goethe-Zentrum, Coimbatore, is screening ‘The Flying Classroom’ (2002, 110 minutes) today at 6.00 p.m. at Gedee Auditorium, President Hall. Henceforth, the centre will regularly screen films every alternate Saturday.

Charity carnival
The Sindhi Ladies Forum is organising a charity carnival on January 6 at Kikani School Grounds.
The carnival promises lots of fun for the whole family and will include dance competitions for children above seven years, dumb charades, a cookery contest for women, exhibition-cum-sale stalls, game stalls, food stalls and a tambola with prizes such as gold jewellery and gift vouchers from Club Mahindra.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the welfare of children with hearing and speech impairment. Registration forms and tickets are available at First Citizen (188, TV Samy Road) and Chandra’s (DB Road).

Quiz contest
PSGR Krishnammal College for Women is conducting an intercollegiate quiz competition on January 4.
A college can send in two teams (four members).
There is no registration fee.
Students should bring their identity cards.
The quiz starts at 9.30 a.m.. A written prelims will decide the six finalists.
The finals will have seven rounds, including a buzzer round.
There will be one special round on women achievers. The audience can also take a share of the gift pie by answering questions.
The quiz will be conducted by M. Rangarajan.
