Take your pick At the fest
Why hold a fest to celebrate what every South Indian worth his batter eats at home morning and night?
The reason’s simple. Everyone loves dosas. Eat them plain, with sautéed finely diced onion, with a masala redolent of potato, with good ole molagapodi, or with a drizzling of sugar and ghee, and you just can’t stop with one.
Reason why Alankar Grande in Ramnagar has chosen ‘dosas’ as the theme for its maiden food fest, on till December 30 (tomorrow).
Choose from a range of dosas, served right off the tava, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian stuffings. Specialities include tomato, paneer, kheera, butter, mushroom, egg, chicken kheema and mutton kheema dosas. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian dosas are cooked on separate tavas.
They are served with three types of chutney, vadakari and sambar. The dosa buffet at The Courtyard costs Rs. 125 (inclusive of masala tea, ice cream and soft drinks) for adults and Rs. 50 for kids.
Grab a bite
The hotel has also come up with a quick meal, called ‘Snappy’. Vegetarian meals are priced at Rs. 75 and non-vegetarian at Rs. 95. This is inclusive of soup, a dry vegetable, dhal, side dishes, Indian breads, biryani, raitha, rice, sambar, rasam, curd and ice cream, and is being pegged as a business lunch.
otel will also serve roast turkey, roast lamb and roast chicken. Charges are Rs. 777 for adults and Rs. 222 for kids. Call 0422-2238888 for details.
