Resolutions
It’s that time of the year when people are at their creative best. To think of a new resolution for the New Year requires some skill.
The resolution can be anything from ‘I resolve not to drink this year’ to something unlikely and surprising as ‘I will not lie this year’. Says Sunaina a graduate, “I make it a point to have a new resolution every year, and see to it that I implement it for the whole year.”
The New Year is a great time to review your past and plan for your future, but for any change to occur there has to be a long term commitment.
A New Year resolution is what many people may call a fad, one of those things that is considered cool to make and for most people easy to break.
So, the question is what is so particular about this day that drives people for self perfection?
The trend of making resolutions has been on for quite a long time. “If you are truly committed to achieving your new year’s resolution you will forget about calling it a new year’s resolution,” says Kashish an Engineering student.
“My resolution this year would be not to make any resolutions. Because it’s awful to break them,” says Kritika a Bcom student.
“With this year coming to an end I would try to overcome the weaknesses I had in the past,” Says Aditya a B.E student. “I would want to top my class again like last year so would stick to the same resolution,” says Priyanka a junior college student. Without the commitment and motivation we cannot bring in changes in our lives. It pays to motivate ourselves to work for a better beginning.
