Options galore

Break up from mundane Let people close to your heart know that you care

A new year can mean different things to different people. An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in, while a pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.

Options galore for denizens of the city. For the well heeled and those eager to flaunt opulence, the star hotels in the city are transforming into chill-out zones where party animals can boogie the night away in style.

The Gateway Hotel of Taj Group will host a gala buffet dinner at its coffee shop with cover charge. A special menu is being worked out for its Chinese restaurant, also with cover charge, in addition to a lucky draw, which will entitle the winners to feast on the food and overnight stay for two nights and three days in Taj group of hotels across the country. A team of DJs, dance troupes and television anchors will descend on the Grand Ball Room of hotel Fortune Murali Park to welcome a rocking and booming year as part of the Wild Wild West night the hotel plans to host on the New Year eve. Hotel D.V. Manor promises to continue the good things happening in the deliciously decorated lobby besides adding a new feature, which will have noted saxophonist Anil playing for the guests.

The Lotus Food City on the banks of river Krishna will don a new avatar with a bevy of beauties imported from different places taking over the mantle to keep the guests entertained. Models from Kolkata, a live band orchestra, track singers and comedians will ensure that the night remains young.

If you think that partying style is boringly mundane, this year, take a break from the prancing-dancing and wining-dining spree and head into 2008 with a different perspective. Spend a fulfilling time with your family members and make your home a destination of joy.
