|
The SOS Children’s Villages of India, Chatnath Homes, presents an evening of music with Tara Venkatesan on January 5 at The Museum Theatre.
Accompanied on the piano by Svetlana Radashkevich and on the violin by Raja Singh, Tara Venkatesan, granddaughter of the former President of India, R. Venkatraman, will share the stage with the Michaels Choir. Dr. L. Subramanian, acclaimed global violinist, will also be present at the concert.
Tara will sing classical numbers and Broadway hits. The 12-year-old soprano has given solo, duet and choir performances for many international dignitaries across the world. She was among a select few to be hand-picked and trained by Pandit Ravi Shankar and by the director of the Vienna Boys Choir.
The funds raised through the concert will go towards supporting the children at SOS Children’s Villages of India – Chatnath Homes, an NGO for abandoned, destitute and orphaned children.
Donor passes for the concert are priced at Rs. 500, Rs.200 and Rs.100 and are available at all outlets of Landmark, Odyssey (Adyar) and Pro-Music (Egmore).
