Car and bike questions? We have the answers
|
I want to buy a car and my budget is Rs 3.5 lakh. I am interested in the Chevrolet Spark but have heard from friends that the AC in this car does not function well. In addition, I have also heard that the gear shift quality and fuel efficiency of the Spark isn’t that great either. I also want to know about the Spark’s resale value and long-term service costs?
P A Narasimhan
The only problem with the Spark is its seats as they might be a little uncomfortable. As for the issues you mentioned, you needn’t worry as the fuel efficiency is decent as is the gear shift quality, though the resale value isn’t that great. We would suggest you take a look at the Hyundai i10.
I want to buy a small car and my budget is between 4-5 lakh. I test drove the Swift and realised that it offers very little leg space for the driver. I also tested the Wagon R and felt it was very comfortable. Is it possible to carry out an adjustment on the Swift whereby the steering wheel height is adjusted to release more leg space? I drive around 5km per day. Would you suggest the Swift or the Wagon R?
Kartik
We would suggest the Swift as it is a bigger car and has a modern design as well. In addition, it rides and handles well and is better than the Wagon R in most respects. Alternatively, if you want more space, you should check out the Hyundai Getz.
I want to buy a car and my priorities are good mileage, low maintenance costs, comfort and leg space. My budget is between Rs 5-6 lakh. What are my options?
Raghu
In the hatchback segment, you can choose from the Swift and the Getz and if you stretch your budget a bit, you can get the Ford Fusion as well. In the mid-size segment, you could buy a Logan or the Indigo. We would suggest the Getz as it fits your requirements among the hatches or the Logan if you want a bigger car.
