Boys from the VPCA crowned themselves with glory as they won two titles in the Santa Cup cricket tournament held in Hyderabad recently.
VPCA won the under 15 age group championship as it registered a huge win over Arshad Ayub cricket academy and then also defeated Daniel CA in the under 11 age group final.
In the under 15 final VPCA batted first and scored a massive 334 for two in only 40 overs.
Yahtin Reddy (who was later adjudged Man of the Match ) scored an unbeaten 151. And the other batsmen who came good for the VPCA in a big way was Rohit Rajan who scored 93.
The two of them flayed the rival attack to all parts of the ground and ensured that the team posted a really big total. In reply Arshad Ayub academy struggled to keep up the run rate.
Although the batsmen tried hard to stick to a good tempo they found the target daunting and eventually folded up for 156.
Mallikarjun with 53 was the tops scorer.
In the under 11 age group final VPCA bagged the title by defeating Daniel CA. Again VPCA team got to bat first and in this match too the VPCA outfit posted a formidable total of 325 for three in 40 overs.
This time it was D.G. Chaitanya who came good with an unbeaten 149 and he received good support from S. Goud who scored an unbeaten 82.
In reply Daniel CA was all out for 144. Kumar and Puroshottam with three wickets each were the most successful bowlers for VPCA.
